Curriculum
At Golden Valley we offer our children a rich and diverse curriculum that develops their understanding of the world around them and gives them the knowledge and skills to be successful in the next stage of their education. We encourage children to be independent learners who have their own voice and who are well-rounded and confident, both in school and in the wider community.
Our creative curriculum encompasses the National Curriculum and its Programmes of Study. Units of work are subject specific to ensure progression of knowledge, skills and the vocabulary within that subject. Appropriate links between subjects are made where relevant to enhance key concepts.
School should be fun and enriching. Our curriculum is enhanced with regular trips and visits and the celebration of events such as Black History Month, Remembrance, Anti-Bullying Week, International Women's Day and Children's Mental Health Week.
We also ensure that our School Values and British Values form part of every aspect of our learning.
Through all of our learning we teach our pupils to:
Share Kindness
Challenging Themselves and Others
Achieve Excellence
